Last Things

Last week, David Zbirka and I finished production on the posthumous album by his dad, Miro Zbirka, titled ‘Posledné Veci’ - which translates as 'Last Things'.

The album displays all the ranges of Miro’s diverse career, being careful to make decisions based on Miro’s ideas, whilst also working to our own sensibilities in music. I’m super proud of all the achievements we made creating it, from overcoming the technical issues recovering and repairing demos Miro had made, to having the opportunity to arrange for and record a 22-piece string orchestra in Prague. Not to mention tracking with some incredible musicians at the historic Konk Studios, which was an amazing experience for all of us involved.

Above all, David has worked incredibly hard honouring and continuing his dad’s music, working day and night (mostly night) to chisel this record into existence, and I have no doubt in my mind that Miro would have loved and been proud of this album.
